hey mark, gorgeous photos! i'm starting to get into gardening too and this summer i'm experimenting with lots of stuff. a question for you...what's the best natural (non-toxic) thing to do for your vegetables to keep bugs off of them? there's something taking tiny bites from all of my mesclun greens!

It depends. My two favorite pest controls are:
1. Predators - ladybugs and mantises both have voracious appetites for aphids and other pests. You can usually buy them at garden stores if you don't have them already.
2. Neem Oil - you can get this natural oil from many stores. I mix it with a little dish soap and spray it right on the plants. It is so safe you can use it up to the day before harvest.
