This bit of drama was going on midday in the center of a huge carrot flower. The black fly was losing. The whitish horned fly was slowly having its way with him.
The berries are coming in like crazy! I picked this batch today. There's still so much more on the vines... Yum! Don't be jealous dear reader. (You know who you are.) I froze this whole batch just for you.
It has been fascinating watching these plants change over the past year. Last summer they barely hung in there. Now they're huge. This flower is nearly as big as my fist.
The sweet peas have finally blossomed. These plants grew from seeds that were planted very late... last year! The seeds were from DJ's grandmother. We figured that it too late in the season and that was that. Go figure...
